The purpose of this website is to bring together the information and products that will help you and your loved ones be self-reliant in the event of an emergency. By their nature emergencies can be disruptive; sometimes sudden; and occasionally injurious and life threatening.
It doesn't matter if the emergency is related to the weather, the environment, societal issues or outside forces all emergencies follow a similar pattern:
- The initial Event - Whether a complete surprise or you saw it coming, some change has occurred
- The period of disruption - Could be short or it could be a long period of time
- The Response - How you respond to the disruption or the authorities or your local community
- Mitigation - the response yields results that either make the situation worse better of the same.
- Resolution - The situation gets better or is resolved into a "new normal" that is not an emergency per se.
This blog will cover different types of emergencies, the proper response to each type, the gear needed to mitigate the emergency and where to get information as to the proper response and best practices to be self-reliant in case of emergency.
Until Next Time -- Be Ready!
